How about a Joomla learning holiday in Spain?

How would you like to learn about Joomla topics from people with years of experience in their respective fields? How would you like to be taught in a small group of 12 people, getting personal tips and hands-on experience?

Now it is possible! Alexis Sotir, Daniel Dimitrov and Yen Tang had the idea earlier this summer. After having talked to some people in the community, they decided to create a series of Joomla workshops at Mallorca. The idea is to have people come there and learn in a relaxed atmosphere, from experienced Joomla community members.

Alexis says this about the workshops:

We hope to create an experience for you from which you can take back more than just dry lectures like in other workshops, but also a nice memory and maybe some new friends or business partners in the community.

The concept is called Do the Workshop. This winter, there will be six workshops in Mallorca, of which I will teach one. These are the workshops they have planned so far:

I have been blogging with Joomla since early 2009. And I was awarded Best Joomla Blog of the Year at J and Beyond 2011 for JoomlaBlogger.net. During these years, I have accumulated a lot of experience in the field of blogging with Joomla.

Alexis approached me some time ago and asked if I was interested in doing a workshop. Which I would, as I've always liked teaching and meeting new people. And you can't say no to come to Spain, right? I will be enjoying the average temperature of 18-19 degrees Celcius down there in November, sometimes even above 20. Nice!

Anyway, I will be teaching a 16-hour workshop on Blogging with Joomla. During this weekend, I will share my experience in this area. I will help you create a blog from scratch or work on your excisting blog. I will help you find the right extensions for your needs, tune the design and template for your blog, provide SEO tips and a lot more.

What's included?

The ticket for the workshop includes everything you need, except for transport to and from Mallorca.

16 Hours Workshop Session with 1 Lecturer + 1 Assistant
2 Nights - half of a double room (roommates choose each other in the weeks prior to the workshop/cots available) at a 5-star hotel.

So you can see, it is not a coincidence that the topic is what it is for this workshop. I have spent the last few months writing this book on how to blog with Joomla. The workshop will be an opportunity to really get to work with the information in the book. During the workshop, there will be plenty of opportunity for me to give you personal coaching on how to create an even better blog.
