The Open Source Matters board writes in the announcement:
It is with sadness that we announce the intended resignation of Andrew Eddie from working with the Open Source Matters (OSM) board.
Andrew's departure is not immediate. He has given notice to OSM and the Leadership Team that come the release of Joomla 1.6 GA (General Availability), he’ll be resigning his position in the Joomla Production Leadership Team and also not be renewing his agreement with OSM for contracting work. Andrew was paid by OSM at the request of the PLT to help with Joomla development work.
We wish Andrew all the very best in his future endeavors and thank him for his years of dedicated service.
New projects
As far as I know, Andrew Eddie will continue to work with Joomla, but not in the project teams. He's been hired by the Australian company Jentla and will be leading their certification project:
We have engaged Andrew Eddie, Joomla Founder and Production Leadership Team member, to lead the certification process. Andrew will be creating the certification requirements and training materials for how to build extensions as a best practice. He will also be creating the requirements for appointing extension certifiers.
I wish Andrew good luck on his upcoming projects and OSM on finding new contributing coders to move the Joomla project forward.
UPDATE: Found the original post by Andrew Eddie about his resignation.
