Do you have any favorite components/extensions for a Directory? Such as a local community directory to be used on a J 1.5 or 2.? (if I ever get the nerve!)

The Directory should be able to list categories: Restaurants, Cinemas, Shops then in each of the categories take the viewer to a selection of entries in those categories then to a page where they can download a coupon or free offer.

I was thinking of JomSocial for this function and to make the items in each Category a group then make the entries in the specific category a sub group...

Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
