plug-in parameters don't appear; trying to get some Google Analytics working

Started by Barry Rawn (Guest) on Monday, January 23 2012, 09:44 AM ·

When I look through the standard plug-ins on my Joomla 1.7 website, I see sometimes the ability to alter the "Basic Options", and always a description.

I don't see the option to alter plug-in parameters.  I have downloaded three different extensions that are supposed have a parameter box where you enter your Google Analytics tracking code.  However, none of them offer such a box through the plug-in manager when I click on them- just a "Details" description.  All of them are meant to have such a box, for example :  http://www.joomlablogger.net/blog/off-topic/google-analytics-asynchronous-tracking-joomla-plug-in/

When I enable these plug-ins, of course they cause a page error.  So they're all disabled right now.

Can someone spot what's behind the obstacle that's in my way, or suggest a way to discover why I can't see these parameter boxes?  All of the installs claim to be successful.

Need to get this working so- constructive debugging advice appreciated!  The site is hosted by HostGator, and the version is 1.7.3

    Hi Barry,
I would check permissions. Take a look at the "system information" page under the site menu in your Joomla administrator. If any of the folders are unwritable it might explain your problem.
Do you see plug-in parameters in the built-in Joomla plug-ins? For instance in the email cloaking plug-in?
