Here are some interesting Joomla blog posts I found during the last week.
Of course, the hot topic in the Joomla sphere last week was the release of version 1.6.
Brian Teeman has done a post with links to movies, presentations and articles about Joomla 1.6. Ryan Ozimek presented Joomla at CodeMash, Amy Stephen has looked at overriding 1.6 framework classes and the project thanks the volunteers.
In other news, there is info on the Santiago Times Joomla site, about Joomla friendly hosting and the release of NinjaBoard 1.0, to mention some.

Many know me to be a big fan of the Drupal community. I like how they collaborate around development. This community culture has been the reason behind a rich array of highly interchangeable Modules that can be used in different ways for different site building needs.

One of the headaches when building a website is configuration and make Joomla run great on the hosting provider server. Here in Sweden I got issues running websites on hosting providers servers that claims to be running fine with Joomla.

Usually, when people talk about Joomla! 1.6, they point out improvements to the Access Control environment, Nested Categories and the Core and Extension Installer/Updater. Those are, indeed, important improvements.

Joomla 1.6 was released today after a long time waiting. There are a lot of new features and important changes. Only to name the ACL and the change of the Section/Category-structure. Unfortunately, this is not for Virtuemart users.

I've seen several people ask the question now: what happened to ?tp=1 in Joomla 1.6? For those who have no idea what ?tp=1 means, this is a method to show locations of module positions within a Joomla template.

SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE! Joomla 1.5 to 1.6 is not an upgrade - it is a migration. This tutorial shows you how to use jUpgrade to complete the process. Please remember, many 3rd-party extensions are not currently available for 1.6, so check which ones you use before attempting the migration.

JoomStew Radio has been on a break through the Holidays, but this week we're back with a bang with one of our best shows yet.
The Joomla! Project really is a community project. Developers, Designers, Testers, and Bug-Finders from around the world collaborated tirelessly to bring about the release of Joomla! 1.6. It is with great appreciation that the Joomla! Community recognizes those that were involved in the development of Joomla! 1.6
