Here are some interesting Joomla blog posts I found during week 28:
• Joomla! One click that's all it took
• Changes to Gnome on the run
• Joomla 1.6 End of Life - urgent upgrade required
Written by Brian Teeman
Oh no, what on earth is going on? I only just upgraded my sites to Joomla 1.6 and now there is Joomla 1.7. What the hell happened!!! Did I fall asleep and wake up 3 years later? Joomla always takes at least 3 years to release a new version, when I have to go through the heartache and misery of migrating to a new version. Now there is a new release just six months after the last. This is terrible!!!

Change is inevitable, as we all know. For more than a year, I have been working full time with Joomlashack, letting Gnome on the run assume a passive role. However as of August 1st, I will be leaving Joomlashack to pursue Gnome on the run again as a full scale web development studio. This blog has been focused greatly on Joomla in the past, however I will be changing the focus of the blog to fit more of the needs of Gnome on the run.
Joomla 1.6 will reach end-of-life on August 19, 2011 and all users should upgrade to version 1.7 before that date. Version 1.7.0 was released to the public yesterday and includes an important fix for a cross-site scripting vulnerability in Joomla 1.6, underscoring the urgency of upgrading. Upgrading from Joomla 1.6.5 to 1.7.0 (and future versions) is now a simple 1-click task built right into the Joomla core.
