Arcadia plus Zenkit - K2 Template demo site

Written by Anthony Olson

A few weeks ago I published the new demo site for Zenkit - our stand alone responsive K2 templates for Joomla - and also announced Zenkit v2 which comes with a tonne of new features.   I'm gradually going through the existing template base and adding their relevant Zenkit demos and so the next cab off the rank is the Arcadia Zenkit demo site.

If you missed the announcement yesterday, Arcadia is a beautiful new design created by Glenn Thomas aka The Fox and the King. It's a beautiful T3 driven theme with a stack of goodies under the hood - check out the feature page for more details.

Interview with the Fox and the King

Written by Anthony Olson

One of the great things about moving into my new studio space at the end of last year, was that I got to meet a whole new group of artists, designers, photographers and other creative types.  One of those designers is Glenn Thomas. Glenn put together the header and element design for our Joomla template release Arcadia and as you can see he is a seriously talented illustrator.   I wanted to get an idea of his workflow and design process so I asked him the following questions ..

Introducing Arcadia - stunning responsive template

Written by Anthony Olson

I'm very happy to announce the availability of our April Joomla template release - Arcadia.

Arcadia is a fun and creative responsive Joomla template that features an awesome header design from Glenn Thomas aka The Fox and the King. Glenn has a unique visual style and after meeting him a few months ago in the new studio space I couldn't wait to put his style into a Joomla template for you. I'll be publishing an interview with Glenn in the next few days so stay tuned if you want to find out more about this amazing Melbourne artist.

Arcadia is built on the T3 framework and features a tonne of theming options and some very flexible functionality.

Can a Joomla! Based Company Succeed In The Enterprice World?

Written by Joe Sonne

Last fall I attended Victor Drover's session at the Joomla! World Conference in San Jose, California, where he spoke on the topic "Is Joomla 3 Ready For Enterprise?" (see video above) I was at the back of the room and as I listened to him I remember thinking about my own experience with a commercial enterprise system.  It was while I was engaged in a large project for a national association in Canada that I first looked into Joomla. Joomla! was at version 1.0 and it impressed me with what it could do right out of the box.

Of course it was no where near what was needed for the association but we started using Joomla! for microsites where it easily did the job that was needed.  The commercial enterprise system was the lifeblood of the association’s business processes. It was expensive but also capable and the company providing the services could easily justify the expense.

K2 v2.6.6 released

Written by Fotis Evangelou

Today we're releasing K2 version 2.6.6, a bug fix update which address redirect issues with the newly introduced Advanced SEF options, plus some minor performance improvements.

For the impatient, grab the update here: http://getk2.googlecode.com/files/K2_v2.6.6.zip  If you are on Joomla! 1.5, grab the zip file from the link above and install it on top of your existing K2 version. If you are on Joomla! 2.5 or 3.0, go to the Joomla! update manager, purge the update cache, re-check and you'll see the new release available to instantly update. If you are on Joomla! 1.6 or 1.7 then someone probably cut off your internet connection a year ago: upgrade to 2.5 now!

So what's changed or been updated in this new release in more detail?
